Problems with the burner strength on a Bbq Grill.?

My friend just got a grill second hand So we dont know the history of the grill. It is Thermos 6000 propane Barbeque/Barbecue Grill. She tested it days before by grilling food and the HIGH flames were great. However, 3 days later, we were about to grill a large meal for family members and the knob was set to high but the flames were as if it were on low the entire time….

The connection between the grill and the cylinder has an excess flow valve built into it that is there to sense if the hose is cut or ruptures. If it senses fuel flowing too quickly, it severely restricts the flow of gas.

It sounds like you may have opened the cylinder valve too quickly or had the appliance controls turned on high before you opened the cylinder valve.

Make sure the controls on the appliance are off. Then disconnect and reconnect the cylinder. Open the cylinder valve very slowly and only crack it slightly open. Wait 5 seconds and then open the valve all the way. Light the appliance and it should operate properly…
